Birthday

I am celebrating a birthday tomorrow. A big one by most people's standards. My 40th birthday.

I was not feeling much of anything about it until this evening.
Then my brain was all-Wow. 40 years. That's a long time.
I haven't done half the shit I thought I would have by now.

Am I the only one that thinks these things?
I suppose it doesn't help that it's been a helluva month so far with upheavals and whatnot.

All I know for sure is that there is a giant DQ ice cream cake in the freezer with my name on it :)

Am I the only one that shuts off my non-work life at work?
What I mean is that outside of Twitter, FB, email and texts I don't think about home stuff while at work. This has gotten to the point that I actually have to set reminders in my phone to pick up pet food, call friends / family, make appointments if they are things that actually need to be addressed between 8 am and 5 pm.

Am I weird? (don't answer that, I already know the answer)

It seems like a lifetime ago that I was on here. Over four years have passed since my last post. Not a lot has changed since then or everything has changed depending on how I look at things. I may try and post a little more regularly or I may not. I find this forum good for certain things but terrible for others. If I can strike a happy medium I'll stay. If not, my posting activity may be irregular and infrequent. Stay tuned or don't.
